When my Dad passed in 2012 we found one 45/120 Norma case in his reloading shed. We looked all over for the rifle it went with as he only had reloading components for his rifles.
Sadly, we never found the rifle. He may have hidden it in a wall somewhere
This case has been sitting on my reloading bench ever since so today I decided to load it up with 120 gr. 2f swiss with a 500 gr. Bullet.
I searched on the web for an overall case length but all I could find were people saying how you can't get 120gr. of black powder in the case?? Well I weighed out 100 gr., Drop tubed it in and found there was still plenty of room. I dropped another 20 gr. and low and be hold, it all fit. With a little compression the 500 gr. bullet dropped right in. COL at the crimp grove came out to be 3.909. not that it really matters as I don't have a rifle that shoots this round but just thought it would be a neat complete round to sit on my bench.

I bought it from Al a couple years ago. The blade has a couple small chips and the cartouch had been damaged but still partially readable. The knife is marked 61.
The Varney scabbard is excellent, still has the leather locking tab.
