Hello all,
I’m new on here and have the trapdoor bug. I have never owned one but love history and shooting historical firearms. Wish I could afford the ones I’ve seen online so far lol. I’m not concerned for condition for collectors purposes I really just want to find one I can afford or trade for that has a solid barrel and function for shooting and reloading for. Does anyone have anything available to trade or sell or know of some good places to check out? Thanks in advance !
Steve

Even though you say you do not particularly care - at this time - about condition or collectibility, you should at least consider the day when you want to upgrade and sell, so, the more you know, the better off you are. Suggest the late Joe Poyer's ".45-70 Springfield, 4th edition" for $35 or so. Best online sites are probably Gunbroker and Guns International. Nothing beats local gun shows for "hands on", but you still need to know what you are looking at.

THIS WHOLE THREAD REALLY BELONGS ON THE BUY-SELL TRACE SECTION.
It will be deleted in a week or so.

Thanks John S.
I hope you also reached out to this new member to help him find a shootable rifle. I think it’s great that we have someone else who’s interested in these amazing pieces of American history and I was willing to help him out.
I posted on his thread because I didn’t know if he knew where to look at the buy & sell section, and I sent him a private message but wasn’t sure he knew to look at a PM and I didn’t want him thinking no one cared about his new interest in trapdoors.
