Double check the rolling block carbine. Dixie gun works has large number of anchor marked carbine barrels some years ago and sold them a friend bought one and put it on a action for a shooter.

They remove chrome by reverse plating. You might ask a plating service if this works on Nickle or tin.

Great find. even a box of 45-80-500 is rare these days. Sure miss the Robert Buttweiler cartridge auctions. Eagerly waited for every catalog and the goodies and information on rare cartridges he would fill each with.
